💗 A safe place for your child to learn

BabySteps is an AI-powered learning platform for children aged 0-10. Under applicable child data protection laws (e.g., COPPA in the US, GDPR-K in the EU, Korean Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) Article 22-2 for Korean users), processing the personal data of children under 14 requires consent from a parent or legal guardian.

1. Why parental consent is required

Major child data protection laws — including COPPA in the United States, GDPR-K in the European Union, and PIPA Article 22-2 in Korea — require consent from a parent or legal guardian before processing personal data of children under 14. These rules exist because young children can't fully understand and meaningfully consent to data processing on their own.

2. Who uses the Service

  • Sign-up, payment and account management are performed by a parent or legal guardian who is of legal age.
  • Learning content is used by the child under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
  • Children cannot sign up or purchase a subscription on their own.

3. What we do NOT collect from children

  • A child's real name, date of birth, address, phone number or other directly identifying information
  • A child's photo, location or contact information
  • Behavioral tracking, profiling, or advertising identifiers tied to a child

Stories, drawings and quiz results created by the child during use are stored under the parent or legal guardian's account and can be deleted by them at any time.

4. What a parent or legal guardian should do

  1. At sign-up, please check the boxes for the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Parental Consent yourself.
  2. When your child is using the Service, watch alongside them and let us know right away if you see anything inappropriate.
  3. When subscribing, you'll go through a Parental Gate verification step.
  4. You can review, edit or delete your child's information at any time using your judgment as a parent or legal guardian.

5. Parent / legal guardian rights

A parent or legal guardian may exercise these rights at any time:

  • Request access to a child's personal data
  • Request correction or deletion of inaccurate information
  • Request suspension of processing of personal data
  • Withdraw consent (closing the account immediately deletes all data)

Send requests through the Profile menu in the Service or to kyd3534@gmail.com.

6. Child protection policy

  • No behavioral tracking or targeted advertising aimed at children (COPPA / GDPR-K compliant)
  • No child-to-child communication features such as chat, comments or sharing
  • AI-generated content is filtered against age-appropriate safety guidelines
  • No external links, pop-ups or in-app advertising
