Free Printable Coloring Pages for Toddlers

Coloring pages you can print and hand over right now. No account, no email address. The lines are thick and the fill areas are large, which keeps a crayon from skidding in a hand that has only just learned to hold one.

What age are coloring pages for?

Staying inside the lines generally starts to arrive around age four. Before that, travelling all over the paper is the normal thing, and it is still hand-eye practice. A two-year-old who colours straight past the drawing has not failed at anything.

Which is why younger children do better with big fill areas and fewer of them. The pages below are divided into large shapes on purpose, so the same sheet works twice: a three-year-old fills two or three big areas, a five-year-old goes after the small ones.

However much you want to fix the grip, mid-colouring is the wrong moment. How a child holds a crayon shifts on its own out of hand strength built earlier, and correcting it while they are working mostly makes colouring less fun.

How do you print these cleanly?

Print on A4 or US Letter with "fit to page" turned on. The drawings are square, so you will have a margin at the top and bottom — a good spot for a name, or for whatever your child wants to add to the scene.

Slightly heavier paper helps. Water-based markers bleed through ordinary copy paper more often than not. For crayons or coloured pencils, plain copy paper is fine.

Print a few at once. "One more" is a much easier request to say yes to when the next sheet is already on the table, and running two copies of the same page so an adult and a child can colour side by side works better than it sounds.

What do you do once it's coloured in?

Asking about the picture pulls far more language than praising it does. "Why did you pick that colour?" or "Where do you think those balloons are going?" is enough to turn a finished page into a story.

Putting the page on a wall, or photographing it, gives your child a chance to see their own work again. Coming back to the same drawing a few weeks later is often the moment they notice for themselves that something changed.

Common questions

Do I need to sign up or give an email address?
No. Press download below and the image file saves straight to your device.
Can I print class sets for a preschool?
Yes. Print as many as you need for home or a classroom and hand them out to children. What is not allowed is re-uploading the files elsewhere for distribution, or selling the printouts.
Will there be more pages?
Yes, we add to these gradually. There is also a colouring activity inside the app if you would rather colour on a screen.

How you may use these

Print them freely at home or in a classroom, and hand the printouts to children. What is not permitted: re-uploading the files to another site or resource pack, selling the printouts, or modifying a drawing and distributing it as your own. Sharing a link to this page is always welcome.
